Porcelain Bud Vase by Ali Tomlin

Ali is a Surrey-based artist whose background of 20 years as a partner in a creative design consultancy has had a definite influence on her work.
All of her work is in porcelain and individually wheel-thrown.
Most pieces are glazed only on the inside and sanded on other surfaces to achieve a soft, tactile finish.
Ali likes to leave the porcelain pure and white, giving her a clean canvas on which to play with marks, lines and texture.
Even though her pieces appear fragile, everything can be used.
